The clinic encourages anyone trying to lose weight to try the
"ELEM" diet.
"ELEM" stands for (E)at (L)ess (E)xercise (M)ore
To be successful a diet has to be effective and simply to
follow. The "ELEM" diet is such a diet. Common sense dictates that
if a person reduces the number of calories they consume (Eat Less)
and increase their amount of exercise (Exercise More) they will
lose weight. The body will take in less calories and burn more
calories causing the weight loss.
We are sure you can find many ways to Eat Less and Exercise
More, but here are some suggestions for those trying the “ELEM”
diet:
1.
Reduce portions at each meal. If when eating pizza you generally
have four pieces of a large pizza, eat only three. If you generally
eat a 16 ounce steak, try cutting it in half and eat only 8 ounces.
2.
When eating at a restaurant, skip the appetizer and the dessert.
3.
Take the stairs instead of the escalator or elevator.
4.
Take more walks.

talk to your doctor before starting any new diet or exercise
program.
